How to Help a Nonprofit Without Money

July 30, 2024

Supporting a non-profit organization like His House for Her does not always require a financial contribution. With the cost of living on the rise, we understand a monetary gift may not be possible. However, there are four ways you can make a significant impact for the women we currently serve and the ones still looking for a free resource like us!

Pray for us.

Prayer is powerful! Matthew 19:26 AMP says, “With people [as far as it depends on them] it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Our team at His House for Her has mountains to climb and valleys to cross to achieve their dream. The determination, grit, and resolve necessary for this journey of faith is strengthened by the power of prayer. Your prayers help the staff, the women we serve, and our community keep this valuable resource evolving to help as many as we can. But we must remember that it is through our faith and relationship with God that we are able to do all things. He is our Source!

Spread the word!

Raising awareness is crucial for His House for Her because we are still fairly new. Using your social media platforms to share information about our charity’s mission, events, and needs is FREE! Your circle of influence and word-of-mouth is powerful! By simply talking about our ministry with friends, family, colleagues, or even a stranger, you can increase our visibility and support base.

Liking and commenting on our posts and sharing them to your page and stories will help us reach more women in need of our residential program and outreach services. Would you be willing to let us tag you in a social media post? Let us know! Each person who sees our content creates a ripple in the pond of our supportive community. With enough ripples, we will have a wave of women receiving assistance on their healing journey.

An important note about socials. If you get a notification that we posted online, go check it out! If you start watching a video, try to watch the whole thing so the algorithm can push it out to more folks who might enjoy our content. Again, like, comment, and share. Just a couple of quick clicks and you have done your meaningful part to support our ministry!

Volunteer.

One of the most valuable resources you can offer is your time. Many charities rely on volunteers to help with tasks such as organizing events, administrative work, or providing direct services such as driving women to medical appointments or work—one of our needs at His House for Her. Whether it’s a few hours a week or a one-time commitment, your time can make a significant difference in a woman’s life by removing a barrier that keeps her from doing what she needs to do. Everyone has unique skills that can benefit a charity. Think about the skills you could use to help our ministry. Download our Volunteer Packet HERE.

Are you a professional such as a lawyer, accountant, or landscaper? Are you a hairdresser, computer whiz, or someone with technical skills? Do you drive for Uber or Lyft? Consider offering your services pro bono. Do you know someone who may want to help? Ask them!

When we need a special service, we put the word out on our social media. In the recent past, we have needed appliance repairs or replacement and legal advice. However, being a non-profit, our budget is always in mind. Your professional guidance and expertise could help us navigate complex issues. We always strive to operate most effectively and greatly enhance our operations and program.

Participate in fundraising events.

We host and participate in events like the PTSD Awareness Walk, the Freedom Recovery Festival, Girls’ Nights Out for purpose, outreach classes and workshops, and graduations! Most of this raise awareness, but a few help with funds. By participating in these events, you will get to know us better, support our cause, and attract more participants and donors. Plus, our events are fun-filled and a great way to meet like-minded people. If there is a Facebook or YouTube live, join virtually! Send a heart to us while we are streaming, make a comment and maybe even share the live stream to your socials. Remember the power of social media extends our reach into our community and beyond!

Conclusion.

Helping our ministry create and sustain a place for women to become whole does not always require a financial gift. We are currently gearing up for Give4Marion 2024; a very important fundraiser for us. But we want you to know that you will make a difference by offering your time, skills, resources, likes, comments, shares and most importantly your prayers.

Every little bit counts and your contributions, no matter how large or small, will have a lasting impact. So, get creative and become active in supporting His House for Her. Giving back always feels good!
